Recycling Factory

Separation plant of differentiated collections

RECYCLING FACTORY, a North-West pole for the enhancement of urban waste collection and of special recoverable waste.

RECYCLING FACTORY is a highly advanced, automated sorting plant that ensures maximum valorisation and almost complete recycling of the differentiated collections coming from Municipalities, Consortiums and Urban Hygiene Businesses and non-hazardous special waste from Companies and Retail Chains.

It is also a philosophy of innovative approach: transparency and functionality combined with convenience and economy, safety and reliability to manage the demand for better quality materials by the recycling industry, providing customers with the certainty of correct management and maximum recovery at competitive prices.

RECYCLING FACTORY is therefore the answer to the need of all producers and waste managers, both urban and non-hazardous, in order to make effectively their weight lighter without compromising the budgets and without running into unpleasant surprises.

RECYCLING FACTORY (40,000 square meters) is in Tortona, in the province of Alessandria, it is a strategic road junction, located in the middle of three highways which makes it absolutely functional in regard to both the North-South and the East –West direction.

For this reason it is an opportunity for the whole PiedmontLiguria, and also for the neighboring provinces of Lombardy and Emilia Romagna, and therefore Pavia, Sud Milano, Lodi and Piacenza.

The continuous quantitative growth in urban waste collection of dry recyclable fractions (paper and cardboard, plastic, beverage cartons/Tetra Pak containers, aluminum, steel, wood, glass) is becoming more and more the requirement of the Municipalities and their Urban Hygiene Firms to limit and rationalize costs, in order to count on certain proceeds from the valorisation of what has been collected to ensure the economic sustainability of the entire system in a period in which public resources are managed with extreme care. This certainty depends on the quality of the material conferred to the consortiums of the “CONAI System”, which must be checked beforehand and, if necessary, corrected after the collection phase in which the citizens are the protagonists.

For their part, the Manufacturing Companies and the GDO have responded to the crisis by optimizing every production and management cycle, and also the one of Special Waste which is produced from their activities and which must be transformed as much as possible into an entry instead of a cost, ensuring at the same time a management system in compliance with the regulations and environmentally sustainable.

RECYCLING FACTORY, as an ideal link between the Citizens, the Bodies and Companies that make the collection and the system of companies specialized in recycling, is therefore the answer to the quality demand for all the realities (Municipalities, their Consortiums, Urban Hygiene Firms Handicraft, Industrial Medium and Large Retail Distribution Businesses) of the North-West.

In the planning of RECYCLING FACTORY, besides the best available technologies, priority was given to flexibility, in order to obtain a system able to select “multi-material” (light and/or heavy) differentiated collections, to “pre-cleaning” the “monomaterial” collections (especially paper / cardboard and plastic), and to ensure maximum recovery and valorisation from the selection of bulky waste and from the one of special recoverable dry waste streams from companies, thus allowing full and safe compliance with the very restrictive quality standards set by the Consortiums of the “CONAI System” and the maximization of material recovery rates.

The new site of 14,000 square meters of which 6,500 covered, stands alongside the existing one of 26,000 square meters, already dedicated mainly to the recovery of paper and cardboard, for a total of 40,000 square meters entirely dedicated to the processing and recovery of dry recyclable fractions.

RECYCLING FACTORY is therefore a MRF (Material recycling facilities): with the help of suitable mechanical pre-treatment and cleaning systems of the supplying material, it allows to select all recyclable materials such as: glass, paper , plastic, ferrous metals, aluminum, wood.

With a few tricks, plants of this type can also be used for the selection and valorisation of the residual undifferentiated dry fraction of waste, with a further reduction of almost 30% of waste quantity intended for disposal.

The processing cycle, entirely controlled by a modern system of software management which allows to monitor and adjust constantly the whole plant, is extremely linear despite the presence of a sophisticated technology compensating by distinct and strictly procedural phases.

Thanks to an innovative line of selection, a highly qualified personnel and a capacity of handling incoming and outgoing waste flows, the plant reaches an operational capacity of processing exeeding 5.000 kg/hour of  light multimaterial/plastic and more than 15,000 kg/hour of cellulosic waste.
